In 2005, I worked the other hurricane ravaged areas across five SW Parishes in LA. These photos are not meant to be professional photography, but more so a chronicle of some of the extensive work that was done on the streets which the media did not see or cover outside of New Orleans. This is 1/3 of the total number of photos taken by myself. Take these with a gentle hand, as they were informal, on the street work pictures. To know that people would drop everything and commit to working 7 days a week nonstop for 3 -6 months or more at a time, 16 hours a day says much about the fabric of our country. It may not always be perfect, but I would not want to live anywhere else. The human spirit is incredible when you see people come together from all walks of life.
